It's hard to believe a heart that big would stop beating.

Unfortunately after high school Diane and I lost touch with each other.  I went away to college and she went to beauty school. We tried to stay in touch but as our lives changed it became more and more less frequent and finally lost touch completely. It is sad to acknowledge the loss of such a good friendship.

Diane remained in Bogota until 2010 or 2011.  She did become  a hairdresser, but she had to follow her heart and her love for animals and became an animal groomer.  As a groomer she had some big name customers, including Richard M. Nixon.  She also raised Samoyeds which became champion showdogs.

When Diane left Bogota she went to Georgia and was living with a friend named Sharon.  One morning Sharon went to wake Diane up and she wouldn't wake up.  Hopefully, she died peacefully in her sleep.  She is buried in Scranton with her parents, but will always live in my heart and memory.
